A video package was shown to "Guerrilla Radio" by Rage Against the Machine showing why everyone on the night's card was there, and what their individual motivations were. Samoa Joe, Christopher Daniels, Kurt Angle and Rob Van Dam defeated some of the best to reach this night for a chance to headline the Second Anniversay Show in August. Randy Orton has only been World Champion for four weeks, and he doesn't want to let go of it, but he has two former Champions after the addictive taste of Championship Gold, which they have savored before.
888.com Casino on Net presents.. Night of Champions X
After the introduction, the crowd rose to it's feet as their hometown hero, Shawn Michaels entered the arena through the curtain to recieve a huge standing ovation. Shawn took extra long to get to the ring, making sure to slap hands with anyone and everyone who extended their arm over the guard rails. He then entered the ring and set off his pyro to the further delight of the crowd. Shawn was passed a microphone, but it was some time before the crowd settled, allowing him to speak.
"Boy is it good to be home. It's great to be on the road, seeing the sights and sounds that the world has to offer, but the cliché saying rings true, there's no place like home. It's been great to be able to sit at home with my beautiful family, and then take a short trip to the arena to be infront of the best wrestling fans, period! Since I've been home, I've been able to clear my head, because over the past few weeks I've been here, there and everywhere, but now I'm home, I feel like I'm able to collect myself".
Shawn's speech was cut short by a voice proclaiming, "I spit in the face of people who don't want to be cool!". The crowd once again rose to it's feet and looked towards the entrance, as the man they all expected, Carlito made his way out onto the stage. He didn't stay there long however, because he walked down the ramp, throwing his apple into the air and catching it, keeping his eyes on the Heart Break Kid.
"Shawn, enough already, these people have come to see a big show, they don't want to see a washed up star talk about his thoughts. And Shawn, somebody who kisses ass is bad, but when someone kisses 18,000 asses, well, that's not cool. So Shawn, I think it'd be best for everyone if you just take your feelings, and your emotions and went back to your locker room and had a good cry. Maybe watch a chick flick, I don't care. But what I do care about, and what all these people care about is the Shockwave debut of Carlito, because you know what Shawn, Carlito is definately cool!"
The crowd then cheered with approval when Shawn leaned back and launched forward with a right hand, knocking Carlito to the ground. Shawn then trapped Carlito in the corner and continued the attack, until he got a knee dug into his ribs, and then Carlito kicked Shawn between the legs, sending him down to his knees. Carlito pushed Shawn down to the canvas, took a bite out of his apple and spat it into Shawn's face. The San Antonio crowd bood Carlito as he left the ring with a smile.

A video was shown recapping the interaction between Petey Williams and Team Canada, specifically Trish Stratus. Recently, Trish threatened to reveal a secret about her past with Petey if he didn't throw the match pitting Trish and Bobby Roode against Petey Williams and his new girlfriend, Traci Brooks. Petey stands by the fact that he has no secret to reveal, but Traci has been hard to persuade. Live with Team Canada, Bobby Roode and Eric Young sat around as Trish conducted a team talk.
"Last week, Petey tried so hard to convince his darling Traci that he has no secret to bare, but guys, we all know the truth don't we, and so does he! And that's why tonight's victory is going to be our easiest one yet, because he's going to lay down for me, just like he has countless times in the past. Petey, a little word of warning, whenever you try and hide the truth, it always comes out, and it hurts that much more. So tonight, do the right thing, lay down, and once again enjoy the stratusfaction of me being on top!"
No Disqualifications; Junior Grand Prix Championship
Champion, AJ Styles vs. Jamie Noble w/ Miss Ronnie Stephens
* Jamie Noble wasn't in any sort of a hurry to start the match, but even when he got into the ring, everytime AJ tried to start the match, Noble would duck through the ropes. It was obvious that everyone had seen enough of this because even Ronnie Stephens grabbed Noble and threw him back into the ring and right into the flying forearm of AJ Styles. Styles then caught Noble with a Jumping Lariat in the corner.
* Stephens grabbed a chair from ringside and slid it in for Styles, but when he picked it up, Noble kicked it up into his face. Noble then placed the chair between the middle and top turnbuckle, and threw Styles headfirst into it. With Styles down, Noble grabbed Ronnie by her hair and began to pull her into the ring. It looked like Noble was about to strike Stephens, but AJ made the save with a low blow and a rolling pin.
* After rolling through after two, Noble took Styles down with a clothesline. Then, after an obvious kick between the legs, Noble set Styles up for a German Suplex, but Styles flipped over and landed on his feet. Stephens then entered the ring with the belt and attempted to strike Noble, but he ducked and AJ was struck with the belt. Noble then threw Stephens out of the ring and covered Styles for the three-count.
Winner, and new JGP Champion: Jamie Noble
Aftermath:
After picking up the cheap victory, Jamie Noble didn't hang around in the ring for long. He grabbed his newly aquired Junior Grand Prix Championship and rolled out of the ring, leaving Ronnie Stephens to check on AJ Styles. Obviously now he had the belt, what he really wanted, he no longer felt the need to hang on to Miss Stephens. As AJ slowly came around, he held his head and looked at Ronnie, and he couldn't believe that she had just cost him one of the most important things he pocessed.

Cameras went backstage, inside the Office of Steve Austin and all the gang was present. Steve Austin sat behind his desk, World Champion Randy Orton sat on the couch with his arm around Stacy Keibler, and Beth and Shelly sat together on a single seater playing with eachother's hair. Randy was almost hypnotised by what they were doing until Stacy slapped him across the chest, breaking his concentration.
"Look Steve, you and I want the same thing, and that's for Chris Benoit to stay as far away from this title as earthly possible, but last week my plan didn't exactly work as planned, so I need your input on this one. For weeks you've been saying that Chris has no chance to become World Champion, but what makes you so sure? You must have a plan up your sleeve, and if so, don't hold it back any longer!"
Steve leaned forward on his desk, but then turned his attention to the camera, ordering it to leave. The camera shook slightly, but didn't move, until Randy jumped out of his seat and ejected the cameraman from the room like a club bouncer.
Inter-Gender Tag Team Contest
Bobby Roode and Trish Stratus vs. Petey Williams and Traci Brooks
* Petey Williams stood face-to-face with Bobby Roode as Trish Stratus screamed at him to lay down or else she would tell everyone the secret. Petey looked like he was about to lay down for Bobby, but he suddenly rolled through his legs and caught him off-guard with a dropkick to the back of his head. Traci slapped Roode as he reached her, and Petey took him down with a standing dropkick, hitting the jaw.
* Roode crawled over to his corner and tagged in Trish Stratus, and so Petey walked over to Traci and tagged her in, allowing the ladies to go at it. The two locked up, but Trish took the dirty route and shoved Traci down to the ground by pulling her hair. Trish then stood on Traci's hair and pulled her up by her arms, attempting to pull the hair from the roots. After a desperation Enziguri, Traci dived to tag Petey back in.
* Petey ran straight across the ring and knocked Bobby Roode from the apron. Eric Young then climbed up onto the apron, but he suffered the same fate as Roode. Trish turned Petey around and tried to slap him, but Petey ducked. As Trish turned around, Traci kicked her in the mid-section and executed a Tornado DDT, planting her right in the middle of the ring. Petey then put his foot on her chest to get the easy pin.
Winners: Petey Williams and Traci Brooks
Aftermath:
Petey Williams and Traci Brooks celebrated in the middle of the ring with an embrace and a little kiss, as Team Canada regrouped on the stage. Petey and Traci then held hands and raised them in victory towards Trish, who was growling like an upset animal. Petey had called Trish's bluff, now the ball is in her court, and will she reveal the secret that she promised to keep quiet if she pulled out the victory?
Backstage:
Hall of Fame Interviewer, Mean Gene was back for another week in his usual spot backstage to catch an interview with one of the men competiting for the World Title tonight, Chris Jericho. Mean Gene asked Jericho if tonight meant more to him since he has already been World Champion, than it did in 2004 before he had done so.
"You know what Mean Gene, that's a pretty damn good question. Does tonight mean more to me than it did in October of 2004, moments before I beat Chris Benoit to become the new World Heavyweight Champion? I guess it does, in a way. Because tonight I get to prove to the world that I'm what I've said I am, the cornerstone of this company. Without me, this place would crumble to it's very foundations. The World Championship was stolen from me nearly seven months ago, and this is my first shot since, which is a crime in itself. But all that is now water under the bridge, because tonight Chris Jericho beats both Orton, and beats Benoit for the third time in the main-event, and becomes the first three-time World Heavyweight Champion!"
Six-Man Tables Match; Global Tag Team Championshipships
Champions, Dudley Boyz vs. Generation Next
* The Dudleys didn't feel like waiting to be introduced as they sprinted down to the ring and instantly went to work on Generation Next. Spike quickly set up a table in the ring, and his brothers looked to back body drop Alex Shelley through it, however Roderick Strong moved the table just in time to save his buddy. Spike clotheslined Strong over the top rope as Jack Evans jumped from the top with headscissors on Bubba.
* Bubba caught Jack and was about to Powerbomb him through a table at ringside, but Shelley chopblocked his knee allowing Evans to finish the headscissors, sending Bubba Ray over the top rrope and through the table. Shelley and Strong isolated D-Von and Spike in the ring, but in the spot of the night, as they ran towards them, both Dudleys performed a back body drop, sending both men through tables.
* Teams now groggy, D-Von tried to finish off Evans to end the match, but his team re-grouped and as Shelley lifted D-Von up, Strong came from the second rope with a dropkick. They then placed D-Von on a table in the ring, and Jack Evans performed his trademark Corkscrew 630, driving D-Von through the table, evening the scores. Now in Sudden Death, it was then left to Spike Dudley and Jack Evans to fight it out.
* Spike Dudley dropkicked Evans, sending him face first into the turnbuckle, but when he went to continue the offense, Evans kicked out his leg, hitting Spike between the legs. Evans looked to end the match with another 630, but as he reached the top rope, Spike rolled off the table and hit the ropes, knocking Evans off balance. Spike then climbed up to Evans and Superplexed him through the table, ending the match.
Winners, and still Tag Champions: Dudley Boyz
Backstage:
Rob Van Dam was backstage stretching before he made his way down to the ring for the Final Four match. Rey Mysterio then entered the scene and patted Rob on the back. When Rob noticed who it was, they grabbed hands and hugged.
"Hey Rob, I just wanted to thank you for helping me out over the past couple of weeks with Daniels and his crew, I mean, without you, I would have had my ass handed to me on a number of occassions, so thanks man, I appreciate it!"
Rob then returned the gratitude.
"Dude, I should be saying the same thing to you. Last week, you were awesome, and thanks for that match, I'm easy favourite to take the crown tonight".
"Well good luck man, you deserve it, just remember me when you've got the belt!"
Rob and Rey laughed, hugged once again before setting off in seperate directions.
Backstage:
After surviving an interview with Chris Jericho, Mean Gene was joined by one of the lighter members of the roster, Colt Cabana. Last week, thanks to his first wish, Colt was running the show, and many say that it was one of the most entertaining editions of Shockwave in it's history. Gene asked when Colt would make his second wish. Colt then walked towards Mean Gene dressed up as "Colt Hogan".
"Well let me tell you something Mean Gene, brother, dude, Geno.. last week all the Coltamaniacs witnessed the greatest show on Earth, as Colt Hogan unleashed the thirteen-inch pythons, only thirteen because Colt says no kids! And you want to know when Colt will be making his second wish? Let me tell you a little story Geno, brother, dude, when you've climbed to the top of the tallest mountain, and swam with dolphins, and climbed with the monkeys.. or something.. Colt's confused himself. Anyway, I'll tell you about my next wish... next week, so until then, say your prayers, don't pop any pills, remember, say no kids! And I'll see you same Colt time, same Colt channel!"
Final Four Tournament Finals
Christopher Daniels vs. Rob Van Dam vs. Samoa Joe vs. Kurt Angle
* As the bell sounded to start the match, Samoa Joe was ambushed by his three opponents, obviously trying to eliminate the strongest contender. Joe tried to fight them off, but Van Dam burst out of the blocks, sending Joe over the top rope with a running clothesline. Seconds later, Angle grabbed Rob's legs and threw him also over the top, leaving it down to him and Daniels to fight for the early advantage.
* Daniels tried to catch Angle with a clothesline, but Angle ducked through and hit a German Suplex, but he held on to his grip. Angle rolled through and hit a second suplex, but when he went for the third, Daniels flipped through to his feet. Angle turned around to get Daniels' foot in his ribs, and fall victim to the Angel's Wings. Daniels went for the pin, but Joe pulled him out by his foot and threw him into the ring post.
* Joe then rolled into the ring, picked Angle up from the canvas and lifted him up onto his shoulders for the Muscle Buster. As Joe dropped Angle, RVD flew from the corner and connected with the Five Star Frogsplash on Angle, eliminating him with a pin. Joe then grabbed Rob by his hair and drove him shoulder first into the turnbuckle. Joe walked over to the corner, but Daniels tripped him and split his legs with the post.
* Daniels rolled back into the ring with blood on his face, but walked straight into a Spinning Heel Kick from Van Dam. As Joe crawled on all fours, Rob jumped off the second rope and landed a legdrop across his neck. Rob was then caught by Daniels with a low blow as he attempted another Angel's Wings, however Joe low blowed him and rolled him up, eliminating him next from the ring, leaving it down to just two.
* Fatigued, Joe had a burst of energy, slapping Rob across the face, forcing him to the corner. Joe whipped Rob into the opposite corner, but he springboarded out and caught Joe with a crossbody. Rob jumped to the top rope and signalled for the Five Star, but Joe tripped his footing away. Joe mounted Rob on his shoulder, walked out of the corner and then dropped the Muscle Buster for the Championship!
Winner: "Samoan Submission Machine" Samoa Joe
Aftermath:
The Olympic Champion tried so hard to make the big man submit, but now it was his duty to count the lights as the Samoan Submission Machine claimed victory, and celebrated from the second turnbuckle. Still feeling the effects of a hard fought match, Joe grimaced in pain, but still managed a smile, knowing that he was going to CyberSlam to face the World Heavyweight Champion in the main-event!
Backstage:
Generation Next were sitting around backstage, holding their ribs and having their injuries seen to by medical staff after their brutal Tables match against the Dudley Brothers. Just about getting enough strength together, Alex Shelley stood up and proclaimed to Roderick and Jack that they weren't finished by a long shot!
World Heavyweight Championship
Champion, Randy Orton vs. Chris Jericho vs. Chris Benoit
* Benoit's attention was purely on Orton, which allowed Jericho to blindside him with a forearm smash, knocking him down to one knee. Jericho then stomped Benoit down on the chest, and then kicked him in the head taking him fully down to the mat. As Jericho turned to Orton, the World Champion climbed out of the ring, happy to let Jericho take out his frustrations on Benoit while he took a chance to rest.
* Jericho tried to whip Benoit into the ropes, but Benoit countered and was about to lock on the Crossface, but Orton returned to the ring to break the hold. Benoit chased Orton back out of the ring, which allowed Jericho to then trip Benoit up and lock on the Walls of Jericho. Once again, Orton entered the ring to break the hold, but Jericho had this scouted, and he quickly turned and caught Orton with a clothesline to the jaw.
* With a kick to the mid-section, Jericho set Orton up for a Vertical Suplex, but Benoit grabbed Jericho around the waist and hit a German Suplex, but within this move, Orton was catapulted all the way across the ring. Benoit gave the cut-throat signal and went to the top, hitting his Swandive Headbutt on Jericho. Benoit then hooked the leg of Jericho, but just in time, Orton dived to break the count and to save his title.
* Orton attempted an RKO, but Benoit shoved Randy, but sent him crashing into the referee. Orton didn't seem to care, but he then turned around into the Crossface and he began tapping, but no referee. To the surprise of everyone, Booker T slid into the ring with the title belt and hit Benoit across the back of the head, and then placed Orton on top. As the referee slowly came to, he counted Benoit's shoulders down.
Winner, and still World Champion: Randy Orton
Aftermath:
Booker T dragged Randy Orton from the ring and carried him up to the top of the stage where they were joined by Steve Austin. Together, the three men raised eachother's hands in victory as the scene faded out to black, ending Night of Champions X!
