1st Mariner Arena
Baltimore, Maryland
Announce Team: Jim Ross and Tazz
Attendance: 13,240
"A description of the word pain is rarely that of comfort, but tonight, that rare occasion has arrived. After seven long, hard months of agony both psychically and mentally, the pain of one last match has to be comforting for Chris Benoit. Comforting because he gets one last chance to inflict punishment upon Raven, and comforting because after tonight, all the torture will finally be over... and now..."

The feed went live into the 1st Marina Arena as "Forget to Remember" by Mudvayne blasted through the audio system. Jim Ross and Tazz welcomed the audience from ringside and ran through the card for the evening. Just as the first match was about to be introduced, Team Canada interupted the proceedings. Trish Stratus, Eric Young, Petey Williams, Bobby Roode and Johnny Devine entered the ring and pushed the ring announcer to the side and took the microphone from his hand.
Trish Stratus; "What the hell happened here last week? First of all, we were robbed of our belts, and then some punk kids come in and attack the Dudleyz. So I guess now that they've pissed off Bubba and D-Von, they think they're first in line for a title shot? Well I'm afraid to announce that that isn't going to happen quite like that because if anyone is going to get the first shot at the Dudleyz, it's us! So before anything is decided, I'm announcing that we'll be cashing in our rematch clause next week!"
Petey Williams tapped Trish on the shoulder and whispered into her ear.
"What do you mean you can't be in the match? You think your Final Four match is more important than this? There's no I in team, Petey! But fine, you want to go for your own personal goal, rather than that of the team, go ahead, because you're easily replaced. Bobby! You'll be teaming with Eric. Oh, and Petey, if you don't win next week, you better regret that decision, because if you don't, I'll make you regret it!"
Petey then snatched the microphone away from Trish.
"Who the hell do you think you are? If it wasn't for me, there would be no team. I'm a two-time JGP Champion, I've proved myself as a singles guy. So if you've suddenly lost your faith in me, then maybe I don't want to be in your team anymore."
Once he had dropped the microphone, Petey turned around but was met by a clothesline from the 'Canadian Enforcer' Bobby Roode. Like a pack of wild dogs, the rest of Team Canada circled around Petey, each taking their own shots. Trish screamed directions at them, and Bobby followed by planting Petey in the middle of the ring with a huge Spiral Powerbomb! Trish picked the microphone up.
"Good luck next week Petey, because I think you'll need it. Not only will you have to go it all alone, but you'll be going it alone against.. Kurt Angle!"
A couple of referees ran from the back to check on Petey Williams as what was left of Team Canada left the ring and waved Petey goodbye.
Backstage:
Randy Orton entered the arena and was quickly approached by Steve Austin who said that he had been trying to get hold of him all week.
"You want to know where I've been? Your guess is as good as mine! That son of a bitch drove me to the middle of nowhere and left me for dead. I've had no time to prepare for tonight, I'm going in cold Steve!"
Steve lowered his head into his hands, and then burst out in rage by kicking and throwing anything that he could get his hands on.
"I'll make that bastard pay, you mark my words. I'll tell you what, I'll put the match back to next week to give you some more time to prepare, because this match is too important to me to be messed up. If you're going to be my next World Champion, I need you to be on top of your game, I need you fresh."
Randy; "There's no need Steve, I'm as ready as I'll ever be. I may not have been able to work out in the gym or the ring, but I'll so pissed off right now that if Chris Jericho makes it out of Baltimore alive, it will be a miracle!"
Singles Contest
'Fallen Angel' Christopher Daniels vs. Kane
The Christopher Daniels who seemed over-confident in his promos leading up to this match had seemingly disappeared, and was replaced by a man who was cowering in the corner from the monster who stood across from him. Kane rushed forward to get in an offensive move, but Daniels ducked through and slid under the bottom rope. Daniels ran up the ramp, but was stopped by a huge wall of fire.
Daniels stood in awe of the fire which allowed Kane to catch up with Daniels and take him back to the ring. Inside, Kane whipped Daniels into the ropes and took his head off with a running big boot. Kane took to the top rope, but missed his big clothesline, hitting the referee, knocking him out cold. This didn't stop Kane, as he grabbed Daniels by the throat and was about to hit his Chokeslam finisher.
Suddenly Jim Mitchell appeared beside Kane and blew a fireball into his face, stunning the big monster. As Kane staggered back, he walked into a Black Hole Slam from Aybss who had just entered the ring from the crowd. Daniels went to the corner and was able to collect enough strength and energy to perform the Best Moonsault Ever. A groggy referee then counted a slow but definate three count.
Winner: 'Fallen Angel' Christopher Daniels
Aftermath:
Daniels was hardly moving after pinning Kane and had to be dragged from the ring by Austin Aries and Allison Danger who had ran down to ringside. The crowd were still in shock after the debut of Abyss by the side of Jim Mitchell who was trying to contain his monster. Amazingly, Kane sat up and looked straight at Abyss who wanted to get straight back into the ring, but Mitchell managed to pull him away.
Backstage:
Shelton Benjamin was sitting backstage watching the monitor when Paul Heyman rushed into the room unable to contain his joy. Shelton tried to calm Paul down to hear the good news, but it would take him a little while. Once Paul was sat down and settled, Shelton asked him what he was so excited about.
"I just came from Steve's office, and I found out who you'll be facing next week in your Final Four Tournament match. Beat this guy, and you'll have yet another former Champion to add to the list. This guy is a guy I know very well, because his month successful days were under my control. And this guy was the very first GWA North American Champion.. Lance Storm! He's respected not only by the boys, but the fans, so if you beat this guy, your stock rises another notch, and you'll take another step closer to getting what you deserve, a piece of Championship gold!"
The camera zoomed out to capture Shelton Benjamin's reaction, and he was almost as happy as Paul orignally was. Shelton smile reached from one ear to the other.
Backstage:
Colt Cabana introduced a special edition of "Good Times, Great Memories" with a very special guest. Colt introduced his guest as a true wrestling legend, someone who has been involved in some of the most heated of rivalries of the past decades..
"Ladies and Gentlemen... Moppy!"
The crowd broke out into laughter as the camera cut across his desk to see nothing but an ordinary mop leaning up against a chair, with a smiley face marked on.
"Now Moppy, just like everyone around the world, you obviously tuned into Shockwave last week and saw what went down between myself and 'Captain Charisma'. I mean, whilst I was holding it down with the 'Thug Superstar' Tazz, he tried to sneak up from behind, but as soon as he caught a glimpse of my dashing good looks, he ran away scared. I know, I know, men have been intimidated by my looks before, but never like that. And so, that leads me to my very first question to you Moppy, do you think that this will give me the edge going into our match next week?"
The camera once again cut across to "Moppy", but obviously there was just silence.
"Lost for words? Understood! But Moppy, its the rubber match, the decider. Christian beat me once, and I beat him the second go around. So diving into your reservoir of knowledge, who do you think will walk out with the big W next week?"
Silence.
"You know what Moppy? I've worked with bigger stars than you, and I just can't work with this level of unprofessionalism. Wow, that was a big word for me! I'm proud. Anyway, that's all from myself, 'Classic' Colt Cabana, this has been "Good Times, Great Memories" and I'll be seeing you, and Christian next week!"
World Heavyweight Championship Contender's Match
'Legend Killer' Randy Orton vs. Chris Jericho
Randy looked as angry as he described himself to be, and launched straight into a potential attack, however Jericho rolled straight through, grabbed Orton's tights and pulled him down for a quick two count. Randy was quickly back to his feet, but missed a clothesline, allowing Jericho to hit a side back body drop. Jericho again went for a pinfall and once again, Orton kicked out strong after just two.
Jericho whipped Orton into the ropes, but Randy held onto the top rope and low-bridged Jericho who attempted a running clothesline, sending him out of the ring. As the referee began to count Jericho out, Orton exposed one of the top turnbuckles. Jericho then grabbed Orton's legs and dragged him from the ring, whipping him hard and direct into the steel steps. Jericho then rolled in to break the count.
Back in the ring, Jericho hit Orton with a running bulldog, setting up the Lionsault. When Jericho springboarded off of the second rope, Orton got his knees up, but Jericho was able to switch it up in the air and grabbed Orton's legs and set up the Walls of Jericho. But Orton twisted his body, sending Jericho head first into the exposed turnbuckle. Orton then rolled Jericho up for the three count.
Winner: 'Legend Killer' Randy Orton
Backstage:
Petey Williams was furious as he left the building, but he was caught up by Mean Gene who wanted a few words with him before he left. Gene wanted to know how he would be able to prepare for a match with someone such as Kurt Angle when he was just attacked by his closest friends. However, before Petey could give an answer, the man himself, Kurt Angle ran in from behind and caught Petey with a clubbing forearm. Petey tried to fight back but Kurt was too strong, and ended the attack by Angle Slamming Petey onto the hood of a car, leaving him clutching his ribs.
Backstage:
One week after defending his Junior Grand Prix Championship in a contraversial manner, Jimmy Yang stood with Taka Michinoku and his translator. Yang spoke a little something in Japanese, and for the English speaking fans, it was translated;
"Mr. Yang says that he is pleased with last week's match, and is happy to announce that the match will be Shannon Moore's one and only shot at the belt. Mr. Yang says that he came to this country to face the best of the best, and so he has issued an open challenge to any Cruiserweight that has never held the title before. Mr. Yang will be answering this challenge in two weeks time. Thank you!"
Jimmy Yang, Taka Michinoku and their translator all bowed to the camera and walked off, leaving the crowd wondering who would step up to the challenge.
GWA North American Championship
Champion, Shawn Michaels vs. Samoa Joe
Samoa Joe was sporting a bandage across his forearm from a wound given to him at the hands of Shawn Michaels. Probably seemed a good idea at the time, but this only motivated Joe more to inflict pain upon the Heart Break Kid. After the intial tie-up, Joe grabbed Michaels under the arms and launched him across the ring with a belly-to-belly throw. As HBK got back up, he was met by a running thrust kick.
Joe set Michaels up on the top rope for the Muscle Buster, but Michaels fought out of it and countered into a tilt-a-whirl DDT. Shawn began to tune up the band, and when he went for the Sweet Chin Music, Joe caught his leg, spun him around and clotheslined him down to the canvas. Once again, Joe lifted Michaels up for the Buster, but Michaels rolled out of it and struck with Sweet Chin Music.
Both men were down, but Michaels quickly kipped up to his feet. As Joe also reached his feet, Michaels ran at him, but Joe side-stepped and threw him over the turnbuckle, causing HBK to hit his head on the top of the ringpost, busting him open. Back in the ring, and with the blood profusely flowing from Michaels' forehead, Joe had a third attempt at the Muscle Buster and finally hit it to win the title.
Winner, and new North American Champion: Samoa Joe
Aftermath:
Joe grabbed the belt from the hands of the referee and lifted it high above his head. He then walked over to the unconcious Shawn Michaels who was wearing the infamous crimson mask. Joe then put his hand across Shawn's cheek and wiped the blood across his chest. Before leaving the ring, Joe looked down at Shawn and performed a cut-throat signal, showing that he had indeed "killed" to get the title.
Outside the Arena:
America's White Trash were walking away from the arena after snacking on some of the free food provided to the wrestlers. They stopped before entering their Portable Home once they noticed that some of their belongings had been thrown out onto the road. When the guys entered, a woman was standing there, and apprently she had been busy cleaning up around the place. The woman was apparently formerly known as "Simply Luscious" but she didn't actually disclose her name. When she noticed that she had been spotted, she threw her duster into the air and screamed..
"Hey guys! Welcome home!"
AJ and Jamie looked at eachother, neither knowing how to handle the situation.
Backstage:
Steve Austin was sitting in his office congratulating Randy Orton on his victory against Chris Jericho earlier in the evening. He said that Randy would be recieving his shot on April 10th at Night of Champions X, and if he was a betting man, he'd say that Randy Orton would be the next World Heavyweight Champion. The meeting was then broken up by the Dudleyz who burst through the door.
"Hey Boss, how's it going? Listen, we heard that Evans and Strong aren't here tonight, and that's cool, but now we're hearing that we got a title match against Team Canada next week? I mean Steve, come on, I know we're the most dominant team in the history of this sport, but how many guys do you want to be on our asses at once?"
Steve thanked Randy for his time and asked him to leave.
"Okay, firstly, I'd appreciate it if you knocked next time. Secondly, I had nothing to do with Evans and Strong attacking you last week. Sure, I signed them, but what they did was as much of a surprise to me as it was to you guys. And as for Team Canada, well they simply cashed in their rematch clause, and I can't do anything when it's all written down in the small print of a contract. This is how we're going to do it, I may not be the most friendly man, but I'm a man who demands competition, so next week in your title defense, if Evans or Strong get involved, then I'll fire them on the spot!"
Bubba and D-Von looked at eachother and then turned back to Steve. They then shook hands with him and left his office pleased with the outcome.
World Heavyweight Championship "Last Man Standing" Contest
World Champion, Chris Benoit vs. Raven
The announcer couldn't finish introducing the Champion, as Chris Benoit ran down the ramp and entered the ring with flying fists. Benoit forced Raven into the corner and connected with several knife-edge chops before Raven countered with a hard knee into the mid-section. The match quickly broke down as Raven threw Benoit to the outside and removed the top of the announcer's desk.
Raven grabbed one of the television monitors and swung it at Benoit's head, but Chris took Raven down with a drop-toe-hold, causing Raven's head to land on the monitor instead. Benoit pulled Raven back to his feet and hit a German Suplex onto the floor and then allowed the referee to begin his count. Raven was able to pull himself back up by 5, but Benoit knocked him back down with a steel chair.
Raven rolled around in agony, and rolled under the ring apron. Benoit lifted up the curtain, only to be hit by Raven who had wrapped a chain around his fist. Using the table that had already been taken apart, Raven tried for a Powerbomb, but Benoit countered with a back body drop, sending Raven crashing through the announcer's table. The referee this time reached 8 on Raven's count.
Both men were bleeding as they went back to the ring. Raven attempted his Raven Effect DDT but Benoit countered into the Crossface. Raven took as much of the hold before he passed out through the pain. Benoit then slowly used the ropes to get back to his feet just in time for the referee to reach the all-important ten count to end the brutal match and bring the seven-month rivalry to a finish.
Winner, and still World Champion: Chris Benoit
Aftermath:
The crowd went insane as the referee counted the ten and awarded the match to Chris Benoit who could barely stand up against the turnbuckle. The referee raised Benoit's hand in victory, but as soon as he let him go, Benoit dropped down to his knees and then fell face first onto the canvas. The show ended with the crowd giving both men a standing ovation, even though both men were out for the count.
