The third leg of the Gaijin Festival began with the final First Round match of the G-Tag Series with former Global Tag Team Champions, the Strong Style Thugs taking on former GHC Tag Team Champions, Ricky Marvin and Kotaro Suzuki. Before the match could get underway, footage was shown of Hiroshi Tanahashi arriving at the arena. He was asked by Maria Kanellis if he heard what Christopher Daniels had said about his last week. Tanahashi said that he had been informed of what was said, but he'll wait until he's in the ring to let his true feelings be known.

G-Tag Series First Round
Strong Style Thugs vs. Ricky Marvin and Kotaro Suzuki

» Ricky Marvin opened the match with a fast paced exchanged with Homicide who eventually got the upperhand with a flying forearm smash. Homicide tagged in Senshi who connected with stiff kicks to the chest area, setting up his Stomp. Marvin rolled out of the way of the Stomp and hit Senshi with a Spinning Heel kick and tagged in Suzuki. Kotaro cleaned house landing the Blue Destiny on Homicide. He then hit a double Misty Crush on Senshi with Marvin to get the victory.

Winner(s): Ricky Marvin and Kotaro Suzuki

Backstage:

LuFisto, Sarah Stock and Melissa Stripes were backstage with Maria who asked LuFisto about her brawl with Wesna on the previous Shockwave. LuFisto reminded everyone of what Wesna did to Stripes and said that she was going to put a stop to her attempts to bully the JPC division for Toshie. Stripes said she was prepared to watch LuFisto's back. Maria turned her attention to Stock, but before she could ask a question, Larry Sweeny stepped into the scene. Stock said nothing and showed him the hand before just walking away. "Strike two, baby!" Sweeney yelled at Stock. "We can either rule the JPC together, or I can find someone else to do it with me!"

OZ Academy Special Challenge Match
OZ Academy vs. LuFisto, Sarah Stock and Melissa Stripes

» OZ Academy showed why they are some of the best women's wrestlers in the world. LuFisto and Stock were able to hold their own, but AKINO's high flying overwhelmed Stripes. Stripes was close to making a tag as Wesna came out on the stage. LuFisto was distracted from Stripes reaching for the tag. Stripes fell victim to a double jump springboard kick from AKINO followed by a moonsault footstomp from Nagashima and a spinning Poseidon from Kato for the victory.

Winner(s): OZ Academy (Chikayo Nagashima, Sonoko Kato and AKINO)

Aftermath:

Sarah Stock checked on Stripes as Wesna made her way toward the ring. LuFisto jumped off the ring apron and charged toward Wesna. They collided on the entrance ramp and a brawl ensued. They brawled over the guardrail, causing fans to scatter as they threw chairs at each other. They continued to brawl up the aisle, exchanging stiff kicks and chops before being separated by security. They broke away from security and brawled some more before being separated again and dragged in opposite directions.

Backstage:

Less than a week after being defeated by CIMA in the Endeavour Determination, AJ Styles had asked for some time to speak to camera, and Mean Gene had the pleasure of granting him the interview. Styles said that he wasn't discouraged by his loss last week to CIMA, and that he would continue his quest to take over the Junior Grand Prix once again. AJ said that he would be competing at the Budokan show one way or another, and that was why he had asked for the time to begin with. Apparently, Styles had heard at Mistico wasn't too pleased with the way he was treated by Styles last month, so he issued a challenge for tag team match. Styles said that if Mistico was lucky enough to find himself a partner, he would have the pleasure of stepping into the ring with one of the greatest tag teams in the history of the company, back again for one night only. Jamie Noble then stepped into the shot and smiled. America's White Trash!

Team MAKEHEN Special Challenge Match
Sexy Purple Thunder Sisters (w. Fuuka and Rica) vs. The Queens of Wrestling

» The Queens of Wrestling were surprised at their young opponents' skills. Io's fast-paced high flying left them dizzy. Mio's kicks sent them reeling. Io had a near fall with a running shooting star press. Nikita and K-nox resorted to shortcuts to get the upper hand. With the advantage, K-nox and Nikita overpowered the SPTS with suplexes. The Queens isolated Io. K-nox connected with release German. Nikita followed up with uranage and a handful of tights for the pinfall victory.

Winner(s): The Queens of Wrestling (Nikita and Rebecca Knox)

Aftermath:

As Fuuka attempted to enter the ring to check on their teammates, they were attacked by K-nox and Nikita. Ayako Hamada and Mariko Yoshida ran out for the save. The brief distraction was all Fuuka and Mio need to lay K-nox and Nikita out with a couple of spinning kicks. The Queens started up the entrance ramp, but changed their minds when they saw Hamada and Yoshida waiting, opting instead to go over the guardrail and exit through the crowd. Hamada and Yoshida celebrated with their young counterparts.

Backstage:

Moments before making his challenge for the GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship, Davey Richards stood with Maria Kanellis shaking his head. Davey said that even though he was on the losing side of a tag match last week, thanks to Gregory Helms, he was coming into tonight with alot of momentum. Davey also mentioned that the last time a GHC title was defended on a GWA show, the titles changed hands, and again that just played into his hands. He said that he knew Yoshinobu was an amazing Champion, but there was something in the air that told him that it was going to be his night, and he guarenteed that he would become the new GHC Champion!

Singles Contest
Jun Akiyama (w. Larry Sweeney) vs. Jeff Hardy (w. Matt Hardy)

» Akiyama had his past encounters with the Hardys, going back to last year when he cost them the Global Tag Team Championships. Jeff Hardy looked to avenge that with a victory over him in one-on-one competition. Sweeney tried to get involved until Hardy brought him in himself and went for a Twist of Fate. However, Akiyama came back in time and saved Sweeney with a hard clothesline to Hardy. Akiyama then finished the job with an Exploder Suplex for the pinfall.

Winner(s): Jun Akiyama

Backstage:

Video footage was shown from last week when CIMA defeated AJ Styles to earn the right to face KENTA at the Budokan show for the JGP Championship. The video ended with KENTA getting into the ring but then backing away when CIMA turned round to face him. Back to the present and CIMA was smiling from ear to ear. He said that he proved last week that he was always ready to make a challenge for any title, and that KENTA needed time to prepare for such an athlete as himself. CIMA admitted that to have kept the JGP Championship for so long, KENTA deserves alot of respect but he has never faced anyone like CIMA, and that title run will end at Budokan!

GHC Jr. Heavyweight Championship
Yoshinobu Kanemaru (c) vs. Davey Richards

» Richards looked to take the early advantage and attempted to finish his opponent off quick by running at him with fists of fury and open handed chops. Davey attempted a Brainbuster, but Kanemaru floated over and landed a German Suplex. Kanemaru attempted a Moonsault, but Richards rolled out of the way and hit a Brainbuster. Richards then went to the top but missed the 450 Splash. Kanemaru got back up and dropped Richards with the Touch-Out to retain.

Winner(s): Yoshinobu Kanemaru

On Wednesday:

On the next action packed Shockwave, it's Champion versus Champion as JPC Champion Toshie Uematsu takes on NEO and NWA Pacific Womens Champion Haruka Matsuo in non-title action. Also, Global Tag Team Champion Naomichi Marufuji takes on Undisputed C4 Champion, "Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels in the main-event. All that and so much more including the Semi-Finals of the G-Tag Series featuring the Hardyz against Giant Bernard and Travis Tomko.

Six-Man Tag Team Contest
KENTA, Naomichi Marufuji and Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Christopher Daniels, Rob Van Dam and Jerry Lynn

» The competitive level of this match was higher than usual since there were four different title belts represented. Tanahashi started out the match in an exchange with Rob Van Dam who took Tanahashi down with a jumping roundhouse kick. Jerry Lynn was next in but during a clothesline attempt, he was caught with one himself with ended in with both men being knocked down. Both men crawled to their corners and Daniels came in looking for Tanahashi who tagged in KENTA.

» Daniels dragged Tanahashi back into the ring but he was caught with a running knee from KENTA, which allowed Tanahashi to escape to ringside. KENTA later attempted a second running knee but Daniels brushed him to one side and connected with a jumping enzuiguri. Marufuji was tagged in but Tanahashi destracted the referee so he never saw RVD tagged in. Naomichi took advantage of his and continued to work over the Champion with a Superkick to the jaw.

» Somehow though, Daniels kept coming back and landed the Angel's Wings on Marufuji. KENTA and Tanahashi then entered the ring and stormed across to Van Dam and Lynn which caused the match to break down. The referee lost control of the match with allowed Tanahashi to take a cheap shot at Daniels by connecting with the Sling Blade. Tanahashi and KENTA then knocked Rob and Jerry out of the ring, allowing Marufuji to crawl onto Daniels to get the victory.

Winner(s): KENTA, Naomichi Marufuji and Hiroshi Tanahashi

Aftermath:

Marufuji rolled out of the ring and was instantly congratulated by KENTA who raised his hand for the crowd to see. Tanahashi slowly backed up the ramp applauding. When Christopher Daniels began to come back to his senses, he lost his temper and started punching the canvas and kicking the ring ropes until Rob Van Dam and Jerry Lynn managed to calm him down. Daniels then locked his eyes on Tanahashi who had an evil smirk on his face. Daniels shook his head and shouted that it was far from over, and he would be taught a lesson eventually.
